Interim Management

Some periods demand more management capacity than a company's team can carry at that moment. In interim management we carry that capacity temporarily, so the process does not stop while a permanent appointment is made.

A company's finance function is tested hardest at the hardest moments: while a sale process runs, while debt is being restructured, while an acquired business is integrated, or when the CFO leaves. In those periods there is neither the time nor the right conditions to build a permanent team. Interim corporate management closes that gap temporarily with a senior resource; the remit, its duration and the handover plan are written at the outset.

Scope

  • Interim CFO and senior finance leadership appointments
  • Running the finance function through a transaction (sale, acquisition, capital raise)
  • Taking over creditor relations and cash management during a restructuring
  • Building finance, reporting and control structures in post-merger integration
  • Bringing reporting, budgeting and internal control up to institutional standard
  • Supporting the search for the permanent appointment and an orderly handover
  • Defining remit, duration and exit plan in the mandate agreement

Outcomes

  • No management vacuum during a critical period
  • Transaction and financing processes run at senior level
  • A lasting improvement in reporting and control infrastructure
  • A planned, documented handover to the permanent team

Who It's For

  • Companies whose CFO or finance director has left mid-process
  • Companies entering a sale, acquisition or capital raising process
  • Companies in restructuring or creditor negotiation
  • Investors and holding companies integrating an acquired business
